The Wrightslaw Seminar works to provide accurate, up-to-date information about special education law, education law, and advocacy for children with disabilities. The purpose is to educate and inform parents, advocates, attorneys, educators, health care providers, and others who represent the interest of children with disabilities and their families. The training will cover four areas:

• An overview of special education law, rights and responsibilities

• Tests and measurements of progress and regression

• SMART IEPs

• Introduction to tactics and strategies for effective advocacy
